Privacy at New World Times

The short version

New World Times is an independent, founder-operated publication based in Brazil and read worldwide. This notice explains how information is used when you read the site or contact NWT.

You can read without creating an account or enabling analytics. Newsletter sign-ups and Bunker registration are currently paused, and there is no public checkout. Privacy questions can be sent to contact@realnwtimes.com.

Reading the site

Delivering and protecting the website involves technical information such as your network address, requested page, request time, response status and browser information. NWT uses Vercel for hosting and Google Firebase/Cloud Firestore to operate the publication.

These providers process information to deliver, maintain and protect their services. Processing and storage may take place in more than one country. Provider privacy information is linked below.

Analytics and your choice

NWT uses Google Analytics to understand how readers find the publication and which pages they read. Analytics is optional: it starts only after you accept. You can continue reading without enabling it. Analytics cookies help distinguish visits and sessions.

You can change your choice below at any time. Disabling analytics stops further measurement and removes this site’s accessible Google Analytics cookies from your browser. It does not automatically delete information already collected.

Your choice is saved for this site in this browser until you change it or clear the site’s browser storage. Saved changes also apply to other open tabs of this site, but do not transfer to other browsers or devices. If browser storage is unavailable, your choice lasts only for the current page.

Previously collected analytics information remains subject to NWT’s Google Analytics retention settings. To ask about those records or request a review, use the privacy contact options below.

Google Analytics advertising personalization features are disabled, and advertising tags are not currently used. See our Affiliate Disclosure for information about commercial relationships.

Advertisements and affiliate links

NWT can display its own promotions, directly sold advertisements and affiliate offers. These placements are selected by the publisher rather than by a behavioral advertising profile. Their commercial relationship is identified with the advertisement; see our Affiliate Disclosure.

The image advertising feature on the homepage and in reports uses an image and a link. It does not add advertising-network scripts or a separate click or impression tracker. Loading an externally hosted image sends technical request information, such as your network address and browser information, to that image provider.

An affiliate link may contain a referral identifier used by the merchant or affiliate program to attribute an eligible action and calculate a commission. After you follow the link, the destination may process information and use cookies under its own privacy and consent practices. NWT’s analytics choice controls NWT’s analytics, not the destination’s services.

Media and external links

Images may be delivered by external hosts, including Cloudinary and an advertiser’s image provider. Loading an external image or embedded video shares technical request information with that provider. YouTube videos are identified in the article, and YouTube’s privacy practices apply when its content loads.

Following a source, merchant or other external link takes you to a service NWT does not control. Review that service’s privacy information before providing personal information.

Contacting NWT

When you email contact@realnwtimes.com, our email service provider processes your address, message, attachments and associated email information to deliver, store and protect the correspondence. NWT’s founder uses this information to respond to correction, editorial, privacy and business matters.

Correspondence does not currently have a fixed automatic deletion schedule. Sending a message does not subscribe you to a newsletter. Include only what is needed for your request, and do not send passwords, identity documents or material requiring confidential source handling.

Requests about your information

Depending on applicable law, your rights may include confirmation of processing, access, correction, portability, information about sharing, and deletion, anonymization or restriction of certain processing. You may also withdraw consent and raise a concern with the relevant data protection authority.

To exercise a right or ask a question, email NWT with the subject “Privacy request” and describe the information or practice involved. Requests to exercise your rights are free of charge and handled in accordance with applicable legal requirements. We may ask for proportionate verification when needed; do not send identity documents with your initial message.

The Bunker and future communications

Public email registration is paused. Visiting The Bunker does not add you to a list. If registration becomes available, its purpose, privacy information and cancellation options will be presented before you sign up.
