Corrections & Updates

A clear route to challenge a fact and understand what changed in a report.

Report a possible error

Send the article URL, the exact passage or claim, a concise explanation and supporting evidence where available. A broken link or a source quoted out of context is also worth reporting.

Understand a change

Correction
A material factual error has been fixed. The notice explains the correction.
Update
New information or substantial context has been added. The notice explains what changed.

Clarifications that materially change how a report should be understood also need a visible explanation. A spelling or formatting adjustment alone does not make an old story new.

Dates and the public record

The original publication date stays with the report. An updated date accompanies a material notice. The latest notice appears with the article, and earlier notices remain available in its update history.

Correction records belong to the reports they affect. A missing notice should not be taken as a claim that a report has never contained an error.

How requests are handled

The publisher reviews correction requests against the underlying evidence. Sending a request does not automatically change or remove a report. NWT does not promise a fixed response time or an individual reply to every message.

Send only what is needed to explain the concern. Use the correction contact route for guidance; ordinary email is not a protected-source submission system.
